 Meet Information

Welcome:

Coaches and their teams are invited to the 2011 Wickham Park XC Invitational starting at 9:00am on Saturday, October 8, 2011. The meet is open to all high school age athletes competing with their high school team as well as special races for 7th and 8th grade students representing their middle school.

Special Note: Meet Director Bill Baron understands that some schools may not be able to participate this year due to the conflict with the Yom Kippur holiday on the meet date.

Facility:

The meet will be held at the Wickham Park course in Manchester CT.

Entry Procedures:

1. As soon as possible, coaches must complete Online Intent to Enter Form, print a copy AND mail copy with ENTRY FEE to Meet Director Bill Baron at 29 Apple Tree Lane, South Windsor, CT 06074

2. Coaches must enter Varsity, Freshman and Middle School athletes in the online Head Count Team Roster Form beginning on Sept 12, 2011. 
 
Entry Rules:

Varsity Races:

  • You may run up to 7 athletes in the Varsity races.
  • Only one (1) Varsity team is allowed to compete in the Unseeded, Seeded or Championship Varsity races. Enter your Varsity athletes in only a single HeadCount race;  Unseeded, Seeded or Championship Varsity.
  • You will not be able to change your race division after the Final Online Entry Deadline has past.
  • Changes made be made during the morning of the meet on October 8th. The runner you add will wear the number assigned to the runner you remove.

To insure a fair and quality meet, NHFS and CIAC rules will govern all events. The meet is sanctioned for the six New England states and New York. Additional states will be added, if necessary.
 
Non-Varsity Races:

  • Competitors in the Middle School (7th and 8th Grade) and Freshmen races will be issued race numbers and provided finish results. Coaches need to register their runners in Head Count for the Middle School and Freshman races.
  • The runners in Junior Varsity races will NOT be assigned race numbers since only a finish line place number will be issued which they can match against posted times after the race. There is no Head Count entry for athletes in Junior Varsity Races.
  • You may run an unlimited number of athletes in any of the non-varsity races.

Registration:

All meet registration is managed by EZ Meet Services in association with HeadCount registration.

Head Count Online Event Entry for Boys and Girls available at 09/12/2011.

The online Intent to Enter deadline is 9 pm Eastern, Friday, Sep. 30, 2011.

Deadline for entry is 6:00pm Eastern, Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011.

There are no late entries or day of meet entries.

Entry Fees - Checks:

$75.00  for  one  team
$145.00  for  both  boys and girls
$45.00  for  middle  school  teams
 
Make checks payable to "Bill Baron" or "Wickham Invitation"

and mail with copy of completed Intent to Enter form to:

Awards:

Individual Awards:
 Championship Race – 35 trophies and 25 medals
 Unseeded and Seeded Varsity – 35 trophies & 25 medals
 Freshman and JV Races – 50 medals
 7th and 8th Grade Race – 50 smaller medals

Team Awards:
 Trophies to top 4 teams in Varsity Races.

Additional Information:

T-shirts and refreshments will also be available.
