Welcome:
You are invited to the Middletown Outdoor Track and Field Invitational with the Junior Varsity Meet starting at 3:30pm on Friday, May 6 and the Varsity Meet starting at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 7, 2011. The meet is open to all high school age athletes competing with their high school team.
Note that JV competition is open to all freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are JV-level athletes.
Facility:
The meet, with all events, will be held at the recently built Middletown High School Track and Field facility at 200 LaRosa Lane in Middletown CT.
Entry Procedures and Limits:
All meet registration is administered by MySportsResults.com EZ Meet Services in conjunction with Head Count Event registration. There are no late entries or day of meet entries.
Varsity Entries:
- Athletes may compete in 3 events; no boy/girl may be entered in more than three (3) events, including relays. Entry as an alternate counts as one of the athlete's three (3) events.
- Competitors have met the minimum standards to be eligible. Throws and jumps below the minimum standard will not be measured.
- Important Info: Starting Varsity Heights:
- Boy’s H.J. 5’6” P.V. 9’v6” / Girl’s H.J. 4’4” P.V. 7'0”
- *Girl’s and boy’s pole vault will run concurrently…girl’s starting first at the lower height
Junior Varsity Entries:
- Note that JV competition is open to all freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are JV-level athletes.
- Two event limit for all JV competitors (includes relays) Entry as an alternate counts as one of the athlete's two (2) events.
- Maximum of three competitors per team per event
- One race only 800m or longer for JV competitors (coaches responsibility to insure standard is met)
- Athletes who compete in a JV event on Friday may not compete in an open event on Saturday, however, may compete in a different relay. (coaches responsibility to insure standard is met)
- Important Info: All events are now contested at the new Middletown HS starting at 3:30pm
- Three attempts, no finals in field events
- Starting Heights: Boy’s HJ: 5’0” P.V. 8’0” Girl’s H.J. 4'0” P.V. 6’0”
Registration:
- Online Intent-to-Enter form for JV and Varsity due by 9pm Friday April 29, 2011.
- Deadline for online Head Count event entry is 7:00pm Eastern, Sunday, May 1, 2011.
- Note that there are separate Head Count entry forms for Junior Varsity and Varsity Meets.
- No entries on days of meet (Friday or Saturday)!
Entry Fees - Checks:
- One day only (Friday or Saturday): $150 per school
- Two days (Friday and Saturday: $250 per school
- One team (Boy’s or Girl’s both days): $200
- Individual per event: $15
- Relay team only, per relay race: $20

Meet Rules:
Coaches, please pay special attention to the following:
- To insure a fair and quality meet, CIAC rules will govern all events.
- The meet is open to all high school age athletes competing with their high school team.
Instruct Your Athletes:
- Check out with officials before going to a running event, then report back promptly after the race.
- Competitors may go out of turn during trials, however, will lose their attempt if not present at finals
- Stay away from the finish line photo timer! (unless involved in a race)
Other Rules.
Implement Check:
All implements must be checked in by an inspector prior to use in the meet. Violators will be disqualified for using implements that have not passed meet inspection.
Awards:
- Medals to the top six finishers in each event
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Batons to the top three Varsity relay teams
- No team championship will be declared
