 Meet Information

Welcome:

You are invited to the Ledyard Relays Invitational starting at 3:30pm on Friday, April 29, 2011 and continuing at 10am on Saturday, April 30, 2011. The meet is open to only those high school age athletes competing for the invited high school teams.

Invited teams include: Bacon Academy, Daniel Hand, East Lyme, E. O. Smith, Fitch, Griswold, Killingly, Ledyard, Lyman Memorial, Middletown, Montville, New London, Norwich Free Academy, Putnam, St Bernards, St Thomas Moore, Stonington, Tourtellotte, Waterford and Woodstock Academy.

Facility:

The meet will be held at the Ledyard High School Track and Field facility in Ledyard CT. Coaches please note that:

  • Maximum length of spikes is 3/16 inch.
  • Each team will be responsible to bring own starting blocks.

Entry Procedures and Limits:

  • All meet registration is administered by EZ Meet Services in conjunction with Head Count Event registration. There are no late entries or day of meet entries.
  • An athlete may enter and compete in no more that 3 events including relays; only one event over 400m is permitted on Saturday. The coach is responsible to insure this limitation while registering their athletes.
  • Each school is only allowed to enter (1) relay team in each event.
  • All Field Relay events consist of 3 persons; you may enter 1 Alternate person. Schools can enter individuals to compete but only Field Relay Teams of 3 persons are eligible for event scoring and awards. 
  • JV events are for 9th and 10th grade athletes only.
  • To compete in the weight-person relay, an athlete must have competed in the shot or discus. A javelin thrower is not allowed unless they are in the shot or discus.
  • You may not add or change athletes on the day of competition. You may scratch without penalty before the start of the meet.

Registration:

  • Head Count Online Event Entry for Boys and Girls available at 03/25/2011.
  • Online Intent to Enter form deadline is 9pm Eastern, Wednesday, April 20, 2011.
  • Deadline for Head Count Event entry is 6pm Eastern, Sunday, April 24, 2011.
  • There are no late entries or day of meet entries.

Entry Fees - Checks:

  • Entry Fees are as follows: $250 for one school with both a girls and boys team or $125 for just one team.
  • Entry fee must be paid before April 25, 2011.

Meet Rules:

  • The meet will be conducted in accordance with the national federation rules and regulations. This meet has been sanctioned by the CIAC.
  • In field events their will be no finals, 3 attempts only. (same as last year)
  • ATTENTION COACHES: Please inform your athletes that they are not allowed on the football field. When they finish competing in their event, they are to go in the bleachers. Warm ups are not allowed on the track once the meet has started.
  • Disqualification of a team's relay will result if a non-competing athletes or their coach are found inside the fenced-off area (football field).

Implement Check:

All implements must be checked in by an inspector prior to use in the meet. Violators will be disqualified for using implements that have not passed meet inspection.

Awards:

850 medals will be awarded to the top six teams in field events and relays along with 1st - 6th place finishers in 3200m, 300m hurdles and field events.

An Athletic Trainer is on site during meet.
