Welcome:
Coaches and their high school teams from CT, NY, MA and RI are invited to the 10th Annual New Haven Track & Field Invitational for Varsity athletes on Friday, Dec. 16 and for Junior Varsity athletes on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011.
The Friday night Varsity events are limited to the top 30 entrants in all events with the non-qualifiers from Friday automatically entered into the respective Junior Varsity events on Saturday. To simplify event entries, coaches will register all their athletes, both Varsity and Junior Varsity, into one Head Count meet.
Facility:
The meet will be held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center (formerly the New Haven Track & Field Center) in New Haven, CT. The 25 million dollar facility is one of the finest in the Northeast. It is a six – lane 200-meter flat track, with 6 lanes on the turns and 7 on the straightaway with a Martin 2000 surface.
VARSITY Meet Entry Limits and Fees:
Since we want this meet to be of high quality we are only accepting the top 30 entries in all events. Non-qualifiers from Varsity events are automatically entered into the respective Junior Varsity events on Saturday
All meet registration is administered by EZ Meet Services. No day of meet entries accepted.
Schools can only enter 2 athletes per event.
Athletes can compete in any two (2) events. No boy/girl may be entered in more than two (2) events, including relays. Entry as a relay alternate counts as one of the athlete's two (2) events.
Schools are allowed to run 1 relay per event on Friday.
Note that Entry fees are charged for ENTERING the meet. You owe for each entry made on-line. There are NO REFUNDS for scratches or “no shows.”
The Varsity entry fee is $7.00 for every athlete entered and $10.00 for each relay.
All meet entry fees are the responsibility of the coach/school and must be paid according to the directions noted below.

Online Registration:
Intent to Enter form and Head Count system entry is limited to coaches officially representing their high school from CT, NY, MA and RI. All other entries will be removed/rejected.
Complete an Online Intent to Enter form on Registration Instructions page by 6pm on Friday, 12/9/2011.
Deadline for online Head Count event entry is 10:00pm Eastern, Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.
No late entries or day of meet entries accepted.
Meet Rules:
Coaches, please pay special attention to the following:
There is a bordering state sanction for the meet with NY, MA and RI.
VARSITY MEET: In the shot put and long jump: All first jumps and throws will be measured. After that only those over a certain distance will be measured.
VARSITY MEET: Minimum Distances Measured for Field Events:
Boys Shot Put: 35' Girls Shot Put: 28'
Boys Long Jump: 18' Girls Long Jump: 14'
Starting Heights for Field Events:
Boys Pole Vault 10’ 6” Girls Pole Vault 7’
Boys High Jump 5’ 4” Girls High Jump 4’ 4”
Varsity Meet Awards:
The top three finishers in each event will receive medals.
Team Scoring: Places 1-6 receive points. Top two teams receive trophies.
Junior Varsity Meet Awards:
The winners in each event receive medals and the athletes in places 2-6 in each event receive ribbons.
Doctor and Trainer:
Temple Medical Athletic Trainer on site during meet.
Implement Check:
All implements must be checked in by an inspector prior to use in the meet. Violators will be disqualified for using implements that have not passed meet inspection.
