Welcome:
Coaches and their teams are invited to the Naugatuck Valley League Championship Indoor Track and Field Meet on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 starting at 4:30pm. The meet is open to coaches and their high school teams of the Naugatuck Valley League.

Facility:
The meet will be held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center (formerly the New Haven Track & Field Center) in New Haven, CT. The 25 million dollar facility is one of the finest in the Northeast. It is a six – lane 200-meter flat track, with 6 lanes on the turns and 7 on the straightaway with a Martin 2000 surface. Athletes may use pyramid spikes no larger than 3/16th of an inch (no needle spikes allowed).
Entry Limits:
- Athletes can compete in any three (3) events. No boy/girl may be entered in more than three (3) events, including relays. Entry as an alternate counts as one of the athlete's three (3) events.
- Maximum of three (3) entries per school per event
- Only one (1) relay team per school per event (no B Teams).
- An athlete may compete in an event in the NVL Championship that they did not compete in during the season. However, they may not be entered at a time/mark slower/less than the Class S standard for this season.
Registration:
- All meet registration is administered by EZ Meet Services with the Head Count Registration system
- Head Count online Event Entry for Boys and Girls Forms available at 01/09/2012.
- The Head Count deadline for event entry is 9:00pm Eastern, Monday, Jan. 23, 2012.
- There are no late entries or day of meet entries.
Meet Rules:
Coaches, please pay special attention to the following:
- To insure a fair and quality meet, CIAC rules will govern all events.
- An athlete must have participated in at least (2) qualifying meets as sanctioned by the CIAC and the Naugatuck Valley League.
- An athlete may compete in an event in the NVL Championship that they did not compete in during the season. However, they may not be entered at a time/mark slower/less than the Class S standard for this season.
- Minimum Standards for Field Events include:
Long Jump: Boys: 16 feet Girls: 12 feet
High Jump: Boys: 4-10 Girls: 4-0
Pole Vault: Boys: 8-0 Girls 6-0
Shot Put: Boys: 34-0 Girls: 24-0
NOTE: High Jump and Pole Vault opening heights will be one height below the qualifying heights.
Awards:
- Championship Trophy & Runner-Up Trophy to 1st & 2nd place team in the Championship Meet.
- Most outstanding performer (Boys & Girls) in the field events,
- Most outstanding performer (Boys & Girls) in the Sprint/Hurdle Events,
- Most outstanding performer (Boys & Girls) Long Distance events.
- The Naugatuck Valley League will also present an award to the Most Outstanding Performer (Boy & Girl) in the meet.
- An individual may win both an Outstanding Performer Award & the Senior Award.
Implement Check:
All implements must be checked in by an inspector prior to use in the meet. Violators will be disqualified for using implements that have not passed meet inspection.
