 Meet Information

Welcome:

Coaches and their teams are invited to the Central Connecticut Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at 10:00am on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The meet is open for coaches and their athletes competing with their high school team in the Central Connecticut Conference who meet the conference qualifying standards.

Facility:

The meet will be held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center (formerly the New Haven Track & Field Center) in New Haven, CT. The 25 million dollar facility is one of the finest in the Northeast. It is a six – lane 200-meter flat track, with 6 lanes on the turns and 7 on the straightaway with a Martin 2000 surface. Athletes may use pyramid spikes no larger than 1/8th of an inch (no needle spikes allowed).

Meet Rules and Entry Limits:

  1. High School Federation Rules shall govern all contests where applicable and/or as amended by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference and the Central Connecticut Conference.
  2. The “no false start” rule is in effect.
  3. Conference Championship Meet
    1. Order of Events: Unless otherwise published, the order of events shall be the same as the State (C.I.A.C.) order for that season.
    2. Eligibility: Any athlete of a conference member school who has met the C.C.C. Championship Standard during the current season in a bonifide meet and is on the school’s C.I.A.C. Roster.
    3. Club teams are not eligible for competition in this Championship meet.
    4. Mark Verifiability: Qualifying times and distances for each entry must be verifiable by published meet results. Coaches are required to provide qualification data during event entry. Failure to provide such information will cause the entry to be rejected. Track times must be from a track of no more than 200 meters. Unless otherwise published, the entry standards shall be the class S standards.
    5. Scoring: Eight (8) place scoring shall be used in this meet in accordance with National Federation Rules (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1).
    6. 55 Hurdles and Dash: Trials and finals shall be conducted and include the top 7 qualifying athletes (due to lane restriction). The athlete having the eighth fastest time shall be awarded eighth-place (8th) but shall not compete in the finals. In the case of a false start in the finals the athlete awarded eighth-place (8th) will be moved to seventh place but shall not compete in the finals. No points will be awarded for eighth-place in this scenario.
    7. Relay Teams: A maximum of one (1) relay team per event per school (no “B” teams), each relay team must meet the qualifying standard.
    8. Event Limitation: An individual may participate in three (3) events in a meet. Listing as an alternate in a relay shall count as one (1) event.
    9. An athlete who withdraws from an individual event once the meet has started, automatically withdraws from all subsequent events in that meet including relays.

  • Coaches are reminded to familiarize themselves with National Federation Rules regarding uniforms and jewelry. These rules will be enforced.
  • If the seeding committee notices any violations in the entry rules, the entry will be pulled and the coach notified.
  • Shot Put Throws - no attempts measured that are less than 26'-Girls and 38'-Boys.
  • Long Jumps - no attempts measured that are less than 13'-6"-Girls and 17'4"-Boys.
  • High Jump starting heights – Girls (4’- 6”) and Boys (5’-6”)
  • Pole Vault starting heights –Girls (7’-0”) and Boys (9'-6”)

Registration Deadlines:

All meet registration is administered by EZ Meet Services with the Head Count Registration system.

The Meet Director requires coaches to complete the online Intent to Enter form to obtain current contact information.

Coaches are required to submit their Head Count Event Entries by 6:00pm Eastern, Sunday, January, 22, 2012

There are no late entries or day of meet entries.

Other Deadlines:

Coaches who have made an error in forgetting to enter an athlete in an event must email BOTH Tom St. Laurent at tomstlaurent.ht@gmail.com AND Ron Knapp at ezmeetentry@cs.com prior to 3:00pm, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012. Coaches must include their own name, telephone number, Name of School, Athlete's First-Last Name, Event and Qualifying Mark as part of the email message.

Scratches may be done without penalty before the start of the meet at 10:00am on Jan. 28, 2012.

Entry Fees:

The team entry fee is $150.00 for each school or $75.00 per team.

Awards:

All-Conference Athlete status: The top three (3) athletes in each individual event and the top two (2) relay teams in each relay event from the Championship Meet will be nominated automatically. Additional nominations shall be voted on by the coaches present at the end-of-season meeting. Total nominations shall not exceed the number set by the C.C.C. (presently 68).

A coach may choose to remove his/her athlete from the list of automatic nominations.

Divisional Standings shall be determined by the conference championship meet team score.

Doctor/Trainer:

An Athletic Trainer is on site during meet.

Implement Check:

All implements must be checked in by an inspector prior to use in the meet. Violators will be disqualified for using implements that have not passed meet inspection.

Be sure to bring your pole vault weight verification form. If your vaulters have not been certified, they will not compete.

Miscellaneous:

There will be an admission fee for spectators at Hillhouse Fieldhouse. Adults: $5.00 and Children/Seniors: $3.00
