Welcome:
Coaches and their teams are invited to participate in the Bacon Academy Developmental Meet, starting at 10am on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011. The meet is open to all high school age athletes competing with their high school team.
Facility:
The meet will be held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center (formerly the New Haven Track & Field Center) in New Haven CT. Athletes may only use pyramid spikes = 1/8th of an inch. No Needle spikes allowed.
Entry Limits:
- The meet is limited to coaches of the first 25 schools to submit their Intent to Enter.
- An athlete may only enter two (2) events. No boy/girl may be entered in more than two (2) events, relays count as event.
- Maximum of four (4) entries per school in each running event with exception of 55m Dash and 55m Hurdles where there is maximum of six (6) entries per school.
- Maximum of six (6) entries per school in each field event.
- One (1) Relay team per school in Sprint Medley relay.
Registration:
- Complete an Online Intent to Enter on Registration Instructions page by Friday, Dec. 16, 2011. The meet is limited to the first 25 schools to submit their Intent to Enter.
- Coaches must submit by FAX a Certificate of Insurance for 2-Million dollars, specifying the location, date and time of meet by Friday, Dec. 16, 2011.
- Head Count Deadline for entry is 5:00pm Eastern, Friday, Dec. 23, 2011.
- There are no late entries or day of meet entries.
All meet registration is administered by EZ Meet Services.
Entry Fees:
- Fee: $250 dollars will be charged for each program (boys & girls combined). If a school brings less than 20 total athletes, the coach should contact Meet Director Steve Browning about a reduced fee.
- Checks: All checks must be made out to “Bacon Academy” and sent to Bacon Academy by December 21st. (Send to Steve Browning c/o Bacon Academy, 611 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, CT 06415.)
- In case of that the meet is cancelled due to weather conditions, the host school reserves the right to retain up to $25 of the entry fee to pay meet expenses.
Meet Rules: Coaches, please pay special attention to the following:
- To insure a fair and quality meet, CIAC rules will govern all events.
- Long jump and shot put will be seeded into several flights with each athlete getting 3 jumps or throws.
- Athletes may use pyramid spikes no larger than 1/8th of an inch (no needle spikes allowed).

No awards are presented.
